The Whole30, Version 3.11

What is the Whole30?

Certain food groups (like grains, legumes and dairy) are probably having a negative impact on your health and fitness without you even realizing it. Are your energy levels inconsistent or non-existent? Do you have aches and pains that can’t be explained by over-use or injury? Are you having a hard time losing weight no matter how hard you try? Do you have some sort of condition (like skin problems, digestive ailments, seasonal allergies or fertility issues) that medication hasn’t helped? These symptoms may be directly related to the foods you eat – even the “healthy” stuff. So how do you know if (and how) these foods are affecting you?

Strip them from your diet completely. Cut out all the inflammatory, insulin-spiking, calorie-dense but nutritionally sparse food groups for a full 30 days. Let your body heal and recover from whatever effects those foods may be provoking. Push the “reset” button with your metabolism, systemic inflammation, and the downstream effects of the food choices you’ve been making. Learn once and for all how the foods you’ve been eating are actually affecting your day to day life, and your long term health. The most important reason to keep reading?

Opatrně s prášky proti bolesti / Be careful with pain pills

Mrtvice, infarkt a poškozená střeva. I tak mohou uškodit léky proti bolesti

Zahnat dlouhodobou, nezvladatelnou bolest silnými prášky se nemusí vyplatit. Podle vědců může ibuprofen a další běžné léky na tlumení bolesti zvyšovat riziko infarktu, škodit střevům a podle nejnovějších poznatků i zvyšovat hrozbu mrtvic. Podle právě publikovaných výsledků švýcarských vědců, které citoval list The Telegraph, pacient, který sáhne po růžových pilulkách několikrát denně po dobu několika měsíců či dokonce let, se vystavuje vysokému zdravotnímu riziku.

Začínáte s jíst Paleo? / Starting to Eat Paleo?

Since it is January there are a ton of Boxes running their own Paleo Challenges, most are the typical 30 days because that is all you need to truly feel some awesome results. At SnoRidge CrossFit our is called Stop the Slop and includes a benchmark WOD of Jackie and strict trainer and self-imposed focus on correct form while doing any movement. Also since it is January there are a lot of new people at the CrossFit boxes due to everyone’s New Years resolutions. That being the case, I saw a lot of people who are not only new to CrossFit, but that are new to hearing about Paleo and they looked a little nervous. This post is to help alleviate that nervousness with some tips on how to tackle this Paleo Challenge and hopefully make some life changes.

The goal of Prague Winter tournament is to create good quality tourney in Prague, which will repeat and improve every year. Based on good relationships from WUCC 2010, this tournament is located at Strahov area, one of two main areas, where Worlds were played. Fields, accommodation, food and party are placed very close to each other, so it should be very pleasant for all players to move around.

The 2011 CrossFit Games return to the Home Depot Center with a $1 Million Total Purse

The Fittest on Earth™ compete for the crown July 29-31, 2011 in Los Angeles

The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA will be home to the 2011 CrossFit Games from July 29-31. The 125 acre facility, located on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills, is a fantastic venue for our sport, with the Tennis and Track stadiums being the main arenas again, each with 8,000 seats. Tickets go on sale Feb 1.

We’re proud to announce that Reebok is the title sponsor of the Games. Reebok and CrossFit have created a ten-year partnership, and part of the Reebok commitment to the CrossFit community is a $1 million purse for the Games season, including a top prize of $250,000 each for the Fittest Man and Woman on Earth.

Approximately 50 men, 50 women, 50 teams, and 20 Masters for each division will qualify for the Games and the opportunity to compete for the title of Fittest on Earth™. The season begins in early March with the Open Qualifiers, and follows up with 17 Regionals in late May and June.

The competition will be fierce, so good luck to all in their training!
